Firearm Safety
You must be 21 year of age and legally allowed to possess and operate a firearm in the State of Texas.
- Treat all weapons as if it is loaded at all times
- Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy
- Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you have a sight picture and you have made the decision to shoot
- Be sure of your target and what is behind it
- Be attentive and careful all the time
- If you see a dangerous situation yell ceasefire and report it to an instructor directly
- Never use drugs or alcohol before or during your stay on the range
- All of your weapons must be discharged and safely encased when arriving and before leaving the firing line.
- When not shooting or the range is cold remove the source of feed from your weapon and lock the slide back.
- Follow the 180 rule at all time, never break the plane of 180 with your muzzle
- Always remove your finger from the trigger and trigger guard when moving from one position to another.
- If you drop your gun let it fall, don’t try to catch it. Report it to an instructor and he will gather it safely for you.
